He has Verizon online service, which is an internet service provider that generally sucks balls.

He has a (very small) limit on how much internet space that can be occupied a month.

Because of this, generally going online, especially to sites with a lot of graphics and videos, takes up internet space because of the browser downloading the cookies that make the browser remember that site.

Because of general gayness on Verizon's part, getting service from them meant a contract, that generally lasts 2-3 years. when the contract expires, Pearlock's family will be once again free to get whatever internet service they please.

And when they do, he hopefully won't have these large gaps of time where he can't go online for more than 3 minutes a day.

And that, my friends, is what's up.

I knew evil corporations would go too far one day but this is too much for any good friend to take. It's like they built an invisible wall between us and PearLock and gave us that cheesy grin and said "I know your great friends and try to stay together but I still need to squeeze every last penny out of your piggy bank!".
